I AM – Morning Meditation 21 Day Habit

Everything that we repeatedly say to ourselves out loud or in our thoughts are an affirmation. The Reticular Activating System (RAS) is a part of our brain that makes words that get repeated over time as part of our identity, positive or negative. Just like sowing seeds in a fruitful garden. When we water and nurture the seeds every day, they will grow (most of them). That´s like repeating an affirmation. If you have a tomato plant seed…you plant that seed…water it (focus)…can you expect to get apples? No of course not. You expect to get tomatoes. That´s how our subconscious mind works. It doesn´t care if you want the seeds you plant to grow. As long as you water and nurture them (affirm repeatedly), they will grow.

There was a time, not that long ago, when I was unable to proclaim any of these affirmations without crying. My mind was heavily burdened with false phrases, implanted early on – and throughout most of my life. Even though I knew that what I was told was wrong, I didn’t know how to get those awful words out of my mind — or out of my subconscious. It drove me mad with heartache, fearful that I would never find a way to heal.

I sought counseling. I sought all kinds of ways to distract myself from the negative memories, negative criticisms, and negative judgments. I failed to understand that the rejections I was experiencing was truly a blessing in disguise — the Universe freeing me to pursue my Earthly purpose, and heal myself.

What it took to change my mindset was a dedication to self — a dedication so strong and unfaltering that allowed me to retrain my mind to think differently. Affirmations repeatedly daily, several times per day, until I was able to ‘brainwash’ myself [so-to-speak] — until these positive words have become deeply embedded within, and are now my automatic thoughts in times of need and want.

I no longer hang my head in shame, or punish myself with ignorant condemnation. By repeating positive affirmation like the ones below, and in the video above, you can step into your power, and live a joyful, peaceful life.

I am the only one thinking my thoughts.

I am filled with universal wisdom and power.

I love myself.

I am free to choose.

I am free to change.

I am free to move on.

I am present here and now, absorbing life.

Today is going to be a really, really good day.

Namaste xo
